OK, first I'll have to say that I have seen a lot of posts on here where people used easy root with rom manager and had some difficulties. I recommend following this guide, yeah it's not just the push of a button but IMO it's the better route.

after you root, you will have to install busybox and flash a custom recovery image. The recovery image can be flashed through rom manager, you can choose to flash the clockwork or scroll to the bottom and use sprecovery (i use clockwork. they are both good though). After you get the custom recovery you can make a backup. then you can flash a custom rom. ALWAYS WIPE before flashing a new rom by wipe i mean clear data/cache. I wipe 3 times before installing a new rom just to make sure it will run properly

    http://www.droidforums.net/forum/hacking-faqs/39254-sbf-root-unroot.html

that was the guide i was going to use, but if i do it that way would i just install clockworkmod/ sprecovery and then after that what ever rom i want down load from here and drop it in the root of my SD Card doe the wipe/cache then install update.zip and then reboot phone correct??? i did the maunal 2.2 update was wondering if it was that easy to change roms

Revocery image is just the program that the phone uses when it boots up into recovery mode right ?

I am more of a "Need to see it" kinda guy, so I like the videos on the link I sent you. Watch them 2-3 times before you attempt it. Then follow up with this video and you'll be golden!

Those are both great links, that's how I rooted and I'm sure many of us too. Listen to YankInDaSouth and watch those videos over and over until its clear for you and you should be good.

    +1 on the video

This is how I went about rooting my phone. Takes a little bit more time, but it is still pretty easy to follow.

Wait a second, if you're running that build aren't you rooted already?

Let me try to get everything clear because I'm getting confuse.

1.- You are not rooted but want to be rooted
2.- You are running FRG01B 2.2 that came out last week correct?
3.- Are you going to root thru "easy root" or using the videos" if you are using the videos and you are running 2.2, I don't think thats the way to go, since last thing I know, those videos are for stock 2.1 update 1

Can you answer those 3 questions please?
