Just filed an insurance claim and got my new Droid 1 and need to root it. The first Droid I had I did the long way, then my second I used something I got off the market or some apk site and it worked quickly and easily. Now I'm not sure what the best method is...is there anything that I can DL for an easy root? Z4root maybe? If someone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

edit* oops didn't see this thread http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-hacks/163556-root-droid-2-2-2-tutorial.html

    sorry guys

Gingerbreak should do it. Or there's a sticky on how to root the D1 regardless of version. I've used that method and it always works. It's a few steps, but the instructions are good and easy to follow.

SuperOneClick is by far the easiest root for the droid1.
Download it on your pc connect your droid(make sure usb debugging is enabled, and that sd storage is OFF) and click root!
That's it took me about 2 mins.
