Didn't even erase any icon changes I did with Bettercut. Re-opened my phone to OTAs as I accepted the latest Verizon OTA earlier.

This should be added to the ultimate thread.

You need to select the option that says "Allow update.zip installation", THEN you update to it from the option below it (don't reboot between these).

One question... say if we were to use this. Then once 2.1 hits and we wanted to re-root do we use the same "Installation" instructions that are found on the Sholes.info website? Or are there going to be different instructions for rooting once 2.1 is out? Thanks

Guys, we don't know whether or not 2.1 will be rootable. The recommendation for now is (if you're rooted on 2.0.1) DON'T UPDATE until we know for sure or not.

Hey guys need a little help. When i go into install it gives me these two options:

    install /sdcard/update.tar as ROM
    install /sdcard/update.zip (deprecated)

no matter which option i choose it fails to install. anyone have a helpful hint for this?

Thank you very much for this post!!

Need to un-root for the device's return to Verizon when I get my replacement.
