So here is what I have.
    Moto Droid(obviously)
    Adamz SG 6.0.1

My question is, while running a Live Wallpaper and specifically scrolling the App Drawer and sliding screens, the phone seems a bit laggy to the touch.

What would be the best way to speed this up?
The phone is set to 250 - 600MHz in the ROM installation.

You can try overclocking to 800+, but I honestly don't think that's going to make a difference. I run at 1100 and I still experience lag with the live wallpapers. My suggestion would be to use a non-live (dead? :p) wallpaper.

The NexusMod Live wallpapers don't lag the phone for me at all., they are are also very stable and when I don't think Ive had the FC problems with them that Ive had with Starfield/Digital Rain (Matrix) LWP's.
    Im running UD v. 9 @800hz LV.

    They also look pretty slick.

Yeah the easiest way to get faster is to kill things that hog processor, aka the live wallpaper. Maybe try different live wallpapers, I have had better luck with different live wallpapers, or turning settings on the particular lwp.

Overclocking higher could potentially speed things up too, sometimes that really doesn't help the situation.

Yeah I didn't see much of a difference when i was at 600 mhz as opposed to stock 550.

Most LWP's are disappointing anyways. Starfield/Digital Rain look amazing but freeze and FC constantly.

550 to 600 MHz is almost the same speed. Of course there is almost no difference. These guys OC at 1 GHz or more to really get the performance going. That is nearly than twice the processor speed that you are running. These speeds smooth the movement of the graphics quite a bit but the real bottleneck is never addressed. The I/O is limited by other aspects of the chip, the 3G and WiFi networks. You can only run as fast as the data will move through the system. :)

Overclocking it to 800 or 1ghz will help with the lag of sliding screens and app drawer. My live wallpapers lag though sometimes.

I have already done the baseband update, and it probably only lags because I have SetCPU to make it go down to 125mhz while the screen is off. I prefer Ultimate Droid though.

Are you using SetCPU to control the OC speed or just relying on the installation option that alloows it to overclock? If not...get SetCPU so you can set the speed to it's max and minimum settings.

But to be honest...I did not notice any real speed increase until I got it up to 800 mhz. I am running 900 now and tbhinking about bumping it up to 1000 just to see if I can get some temp decrease. Doesn't sound logical but you have to try...right?

It should be ESE53 as it came out prior to ESE81 getting released. Also there is no real difference between ESE81 and ESE53. I think ESE81 is ESE53 with most (all?) holes filled to try and prevent rooting.

Using that logic, then yes ;)

Pretty sure that UD9 is based off ERE27, same as nexus1. Check the UD9 release thread in Blackdroid subforum. It explains it.

There is a live wallpaper on the market called plasma - it might not be everyones cup of tea - but my droid runs smoother with this wallpaper going that with a plain jane static no lie. Give it a try, I think you will be surprised. With an overclock of 800, my screen transfers and taskbar are like butter.

You don't have to try. The higher the frequency, the more electrons, the more heat. Now you can try a low voltage kernel and that will help with heat.
