E mail problem

I need to get my email for work instantly. On my old blackberry everytime I got an email the phone would beep. On droid can you only update your email every five minutes?

the only solution for instant e-mail is either gmail or exchange. pop3 and imap have timed checking.

This is kind of odd I know but email on blackberry wasn't instantaneous either unless you had a Google account. They had set up an agreement on this..

You can set your email for every 5 minutes which is exactly what Blackberry does. Just go to your email/menu button/account settings/email frequency check. Hope this helps.
