So I bought original Droids off Ebay for my wife and I a few months ago.

Well, the other day her phone fell out of her purse while getting out of the car and it hit the pavement. Then she stepped on it....

Needless to say, it's not working. I can power it on, it appears that there is a backlight or something on and the "Search, Home, Menu, and Back" buttons will light up. However it's not displaying anything on the screen.

I'm going to assume that the phone is toast and she's out of luck. However, I thought I'd make a post and see if anyone has a suggestion. I'm fairly tech savvy, so any suggestions or possible fixes I'll surely give them a try.

In case it's pertinent, the phone is rooted and was running Sapphire.

Thanks!

Sorry but this sounds like it's hardware related like you said and you probably can't do anything to fix it. Try holding up on the DPAD, then power on, continue to hold up on the DPAD. Bootloader show up?

Will it sync? Does it ring when you receive a phone call?

If so....sounds like its only and/or mainly the LCD that is damaged, however Ive never replaced one on that droid....it would be very fixable.
