DroidX - Howto dial extension number

New to droid ... from windows WING.
I need to have a dialing sequence wait a second the dial the extension.

Is this possible with Droid? In WING you would have nnnnnn,nnn where the comma would cause the phone to pause for one or two seconds before dialing the rest of the numbers. How is this done on a droid?

I kept trying different options and it turns out you use a comma as the pause. the problem turned out to be that on DroidX the pause is a very short period of time and so you have to use multiple commas to perform the same function
