Ok I am new here so hello *handshake*

And have just rooted my droid phone to froyo.
#1 So what are these custom roms? are they basically Operating systems made by people? Or can we put a layer of them ontop of 2.2?

#2 Can someone point me to a post about un-rooting your droid just in case I have to send it in or blah blah blah? I have seen other posts about it but just dont understand :)

#3. I have rooted. Any fun things to do now on froyo other than the stock updates through the new O.S.?

#4. When a new update comes, how do i upgrade?

Anyone who answers will be my lover. FOREVER.

#1 MOST custom ROMs are remixes the 2.0.1 and 2.1 updates for the Droid. These WILL NOT work with 2.2. It will only cause problems and most likely revert you to 2.1 or earlier.

    #2 Here you go! http://www.droidforums.net/forum/hacking-faqs/39254-sbf-root-unroot.html
Box options number 5 and 6 are two ways for you to do it!

#3 You can apply a theme, such these for Froyo:
    http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-themes/49656-blue-energy-theme-froyo-android-2-2-a.html

And there are more coming! Just look around.

#4 You would probably want to wait for whatever ROM you are using to push out an updated version for you to use. Or you can flash to another ROM if you choose. But, if you want to keep your root and all these great features, do not apply the update VZW pushes out. You might not be able to root again.

Hope I helped! (Now off to bed for me...)

Lmao, sorry. I won't have your babies :p

    This is from wikipedia:

"The kernel's primary purpose is to manage the computer's resources and allow other programs to run and use these resources.[1] Typically, the resources consist of:

The Central Processing Unit (CPU, the processor)...

    The computer's memory..."

And the last one doesn't matter, but it has to do with devices going into the phone, like keyboards, which we don't have.

So, with the kernels provided, it gives you the ability to overclock your phone from 800Mhz up to 1.2Ghz! Also, with this build of froyo, leaving wifi enabled keeps the guy who leaked it safe, so until you install a new kernel, you won't have wifi.
