GS II should be out soon, seen some commercials advertising it on Sprint, dont know if that means its already out over there, or if its coming. but thats promising :)

Are you sure you're not thinking of the Nexus S?

    To the OP:

Verizon is looking to do some tiered stuff to their data plans next month. It MAY BE possible that unlimited will be gone. If this is a concern then waiting for the SGS2 isn't an option. Unless it gets announced before the plans take effect.

If you don't mind getting a different data plan then I'd wait. The actual Galaxy S 2 phone is a beast! (though I'm not a fan of the screen resolution) It would be worth the wait!

I am also waiting for the GSII, but I am not tired of my droid at all. I think I'll miss the customization when I finally upgrade... :( .

Ditto on that one. How much is it to change from 3G unlimited data to 4G LTE per month? (on verizon)? anyone know off the top of their head?

yea i don't wanna pay extra for 4g in any way so im sticking with 3g. the Galaxy S II seems like the best fit.

Iv'e heard about the tiered data and im dreading any kind of conference that Verizon may hold since that that might be news they announce.

Ya know what they say though...good things come to those who wait!

I'm ready for an upgrade from my droid as well and am waiting impatiently for the GS2. I'm also really hoping that they stick 4G in it when it's released!

I just put the OG Droid 1 to rest, gave it to my gf in trade for her's that she beat to death. I feel for my old companion, for a second until I see my sparkly new rooted X2. I can't give a comparison since I haven't seen your other option. The Droid X2 is sporting the identical processor to the Acer Iconia A500 10.1" Tablet pc running Honeycomb.... Android 3.0. I'm just sayin'...

4G won't be in my area for approximately another year. all of the current 4G phones have single core. why would i go ahead with a 4G phone over a dual-core processor? and frankly for where i live unless 4G extends the range of signal i doubt i'll see much improvement, none worth paying for.

Im gonna bite the bullet and renew a 2 yr to lock in the unlimited before it disappears and just find the phone i can get the cheapest and resell for the most... although I've been waiting for the galaxyII since nov. My DROID 2 will suffice until Verizon drops the dual core LTE beast I have been dreaming about. Porting cell # to google voice, new Verizon # with new contract as well.
