I have the droidx video player installed ( yes it works for other people) and whenever I select my movies from Astro it either pops up and then closes or says file cannot be played. These are avi files and the droidx video player should play avi files.

Have you asked the "other people" that can get it to work?

Well its included in a rom that I can't really say. I tried the irc on his site and he said he would look into it. But I'm just looking for additional help.

Did you do a few resets before you installed the rom? Try reinstalling?

You might have better luck in the hacks or apps section?

i believe you are talking about blackdroids new rom that includes the Droid X video player. i myself dont have any experience with his rom because my phone doesnt work with it :( but if you cant seem to get it to work with that, then you might try RockPlayer, its in open beta now and supports avi and divx movies as well as a few others i think.

I gave it a whirl (I'm on the 2nd FroYo leak). It failed the play the first video I tried but played others just fine. I don't really see an advantage over the default player, though...

Settings> Applications> Manage Applications> All> Video Player> Clear Data...Reboot
No guarantees but it might work.
