I HAD TOO MANY PROBLEMS WITH MY DROID X AFTER THE FROYO UPDATE TO MENTION, BUT HERE'S WHAT I DID THAT MADE ME FALL IN LOVE WITH MY DX ALL OVER AGAIN:
    POWER OFF
    REMOVE MEMORY CARD
    POWER ON
GO N2 PRIVACY & UNCHECK BOTH SAVE BOXES
    THEN HIT FACTORY RESET
SKIP PAST SETTING UP ANY ACCOUNTS (IE GOOGLE BACK-UP ETC. OR YOU MAY'VE WASTED YOUR TIME DOING THIS...U CAN ADD ACCOUNTS L8r)
    *228 OPTION 1
THEN IF YOU LOOK...FROYO IS STILL IN TACT AND PHONE FASTER THAN WHEN YOU FIRST PURCHASED IT. NO FREEZES. NO BLACK SCREENS. ETC

THAT'S HOW YOU FALL AND STAY IN LOVE WITH THIS PHONE.
HOPE THIS HELPS EVERYONE BECAUSE WE HAVE ONE OF THE TOP PHONES AND SHOULD BE ABLE TO BRAG ABOUT IT. ~DROID~:blackdroid:

I lost them all, sorry. I only had free games so didn't bother me. Just went to maker and added them again. Someone may know of how to save them. Check other posts or google it, you never know.

Guessing you should search HOW TO: Save all Files to sd card if you don't feel like saving them to computer. For games, if from vzw they probably have a way for you to retrieve them. Hope you find the information you need.

Holly crap this may have just fixed my phone ? This sucks because I just got a replacement shipped because of all the problems I was having ( lag lag lag, camera button stopped working, wifi would just recycle and never stay latched, and many other OS problems)

Btw I just did what the op said to do and just scored a 1425 on quadrant!! lol I was only hitting 1100 before. Thank you op !!

Actually I will get back to this thread in 3 days because thats how long it took before the Sh!t to really hit the fan last time.

hahah spoke too soon already glitching. when I try to open my browser it just goes to my dial pad with the numbers 2010 on it ? And no I'm not accidentally hitting the call button I have even moved the app icon away from the blur call button.

    My phone is just FAWKED!!!

lol it's going to be hard going back to that tiny 3.7 inch og droid screen hahah....

Aww man... I was hoping to prevent people from returning their phone. This is one of those last options because you do lose a lot of info (guess app and app data goes hand and hand). But it kept me from going to the Galaxy S. I couldn't even sawed my phone sometimes because the screen would go black. Pulled battery about 5 times just to be able to use my phone SO LOSING SOME info was better than losing all for me. You will see a major performance difference with your new phone and those who do reset as stated. ZERO BATTERY PULL OUTS SINCE I DID THE FACTORY RESET THIS MORNING. =WORTH IT & LOVING THIS PHONE.

    GOOD LUCK GUYS!

Yeah don't let my post scare you away from doing this. My phone just happens to be a huge pile of defective crap. I am writing this post with my droid 1 because my x is just too far gone.

There are always lemons with products and I happened to get one.

Good luck fellas and thanks again op for the tip.

It must be a bad phone:(
but I did have so many issues I care to list, it basically wouldn't let me do anything after 24hrs from update. I made sure nothing old could enter before I finished reset. Then put back memory card and added backup sync and accounts. Sorry it didn't work for you.

I thought that too about mine because before this update I could barely hear this thing. Froyo seemed to help unless I'm just used to it. Goodnight and good luck!

    Hi Tammytam,
What do you mean by go "N2 privacy"?

And by doing this, will I lose all my contact data?

After you go INTO Settings, go INTO a section called Privacy. You will see it as one of the options.
