Hi,

I purchased the Motorola Droid X yesterday and tried setting up my Corporate Sync Acct.

Our company uses gmail and these are the settings I was told by our IT person to use:
Domain\Username: my full email address
Password
Check "use secure connection"
Email address
Server: imap.gmail.com
There are no other options or anyway to see what other settings are being used do I hit "next"
I then get the "Error: cannot connect to server"

Verizon is telling me they can't do anything and our IT person said the information he gave me is correct.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for help on this issue?

Thanks!!!

why don't you just set up a new gmail account by choosing "GMail" from the accounts list adn use their default settings instead of trying to put them in manually?

And by GMail, I mean a google account. They are all tied together and will get you the GMail too.

Also, Corporate Sync is more for Microsoft Exchange servers, not GMail.

I didn't set up the Google account because it's not a gmail.com address.

I have a personal email which is [email protected] which I did set up with the Google account. But my work email address is [email protected] so they told me at Verizon it would need to be set up as a corporate sync account.
