droid x backlight not working on hard keys on front of phone

anyone know why the lights are not woking on my droid x. the hard keys on the front of the phone will not light up at all. HELP !

Do they ever light up?

There is a known bugs on many android phones regarding the hard key lights-sometimes they light up, sometimes they don't.

If you're rooted, download adjbrightness from market and this will turn the lights on/off. If they don't turn on then could be a software issue. Worst case, take it into VZW and they'll replace.
