    Froyo update

I just got my Droid X yesterday. How do we get updates like Froyo? Are we notified by Verizon somehow?

    Thanks

The OTA froyo update will show up as a notification on your device (triangle, exclamation point). Scheduled for early September, but don't hold your breath.

So I’d like to manually install froyo, but I’ve got koush’s recovery and It’s giving me a little trouble. I can’t find any definitive solutions around this. Anyone got suggestions?

I’m thinking of just flashing sbf, rooting and doing the upgrade, but I haven’t done this yet. How bad can I screw my phone if I do something wrong flashing sbf? I know it’s pretty mindless, but what if it doesn’t finish or something. Just need some reassurance

Also is there a program that I can backup all my apps to and restore them on 2.2? Does mybackup pro work for 2.2? Thanks
