Droid won't turn off

My Droid shuts down and stays off, unless I then plug in the charger. It then reboots within a few minutes all the way to the main menu. Normal?

i would go to verizon and see a tech rep. sounds suspect.

Yes normal.

When I plug in my charger or try to turn my Moto Droid off while charging it boots up automatically. Is This is standard behavior for the motorola droid and is there a way to keep my phone off while charging? I would like to give my battery a good charge every once in a while.

nope its set to turn on when plugged in

and what are you referring to when you want to give it a good charge?

It charges perfectly with the phone turned on so no worries.
