Not an upgrade, more like a lateral move, IMO.

The Nexus wasn't that much faster before installing bugless + overclocking. With those 2 features added, the Droid is BLAZINGLY fast. and this is coming from someone who was a non-believer, I felt my phone was fast already. I must admit I was mistaken. In addition to what I feel is equal performance, you're getting a hardware keyboard, and a higher quality external speaker.

I'm currently running 7.4 with the multi touch maps, and gallery hack.

Right. Newer does not necessarily mean better. Take the Devour, for example.

If you like the Nexus One better then switch to it. It's a matter of personal preference like any other smartphone buying decision. If you're looking for a true upgrade it's going to be a while before there's anything significantly better than the Droid IMO.
