droid turbo messenger notifications Grrrr not working

hi everyone

i have a problem with my droid turbo lollipop edition update
The messenger app does not give a sound notification when i receive a txt
I know its a problem on this device
it bugging me so mutch to ditch the phone
has someone a solution for this problem
urgent problem

Do you have your notification volume turned up in the main settings? Are other apps giving sound when they have notifications?

In addition to what Jonny selected, have you tried switching to a different texting app to see if the same problem exists? That phone should have the Verizon Messaging app and Hangouts also. You could try switching to one of the other texting apps for a few hours, to see if Notification sounds work. You may need to just clear all data from the Messaging app and start over, but I wouldn't go that route just yet (you will lose all text messages if you do that).

it s bugging me for some time now.
yes all at max
even tryed in messenger - sound in app or nog
sometimes it works then again no notifications
only with messenger facebook
i really want to use messenger --- girlfriend on it
somewhere i read it has something to do with sounds with increasing volume or something but i can t get it to work
tried the usual sollutions but still no

Are you talking about the Hangouts app? When you say "girlfriend on it" that makes me think you are talking about a special app and not the Text app named Messaging that came pre installed on your phone. Which app are you trying to use, and has no sounds?

that moto got this so scuwed up grrrrr
this even works on cheap china phones
the problem : no sound only from messaging
calling is ok
sms is ok
telephone is ok
just plain stupid
has something to do with increasing volume of sound to protect your ears
but maken the phone a nightmare

OK, so you are referring to the Facebook Messenger app. That helps to know exactly which app. In my opinion, Moto did not screw this up, it's not a Moto app. That app is 100% programmed and updated by Facebook; Moto has nothing to do with Facebook Messenger. There have been numerous reports on forums that the recent update to that app is causing problems. Have you tried clearing the cache and clearing the data for that app? then uninstall it and re-install it?

It's true. FB has released a few bad versions of it.
It is often fixed pretty quickly, though.
