The Droid Turbo does not disappoint with its ballistic nylon (military spec), metalized glass fiber and water resistant shell. The Motorola Droids have always been built for war and the Turbo just stepped it up a notch.

I love this handset even more.,...Drooooid

It's essentially a synthetic nylon fabric thats very tough (not bulletproof) They use it in a lot of applications today particularly luggage.

I believe metalized glass fiber is metal coated glass fiber which is another material that is used for durability

Is anyone else pissed that only the Model with the ballistic Nylon comes as 32 and 64 gig versions. The Red and Black Kevlar models are 32 gig only .

In a nut shell:

Ballistic nylon was originally developed by the DuPont corporation as a material for flak jackets to be worn by World War II airmen. Today the term is often used to refer to any nylon fabric that is made with a "ballistic weave".

Metallized glass fiber is a glass fiber material (kind of like fiberglass...I think) with a metal coating.

Basically...both are tougher than nails but a whole lot lighter than metal! :)

I worked for a company that used DuPont nylon. We used it on clutch cases for Polaris atv's. This is virtually indestructible material. My wife is getting a Note 3 and I'm going back to MOTO. You can I'm say one happy camper here! 64GB all the way

I'm considering this phone strongly as an upgrade to my Note 3... but since I'd be paying full retail price I might have to think about it. Maybe the reviews will win me over...
