Don't know if it was my phone, or an app on it, or some other service, but something is spamming everyone in my google contacts through my gmail account. Anyone experience this? Happened last night shortly after midnight. Links were to sites like: http://JuliannDunklin3919.co.cc

How can I verify if these were sent through an app on my phone or some other service? I deauthorized all sites from my google account this morning, changed my google password, and removed the last few apps I installed on the droid "just incase". What else can I do?

:welcome: to the Droid Forums. I don't recall seeing anybody having an issue of Spam being sent to their contacts. Matter of fact if you have your email set up to gmail it will block most spam.

Let us know if what you did worked. I'd be interested in case it comes up again.

Alright, this JUST happened to me. I've had my gmail account for years and it's never been compromised. I only access my account from my ubuntu machine on my own internet connections (home, and mobile internet). I got my droid in the mail today, promptly put in my account information and a few minutes later everyone on my contact list started getting links to viagra pills. This can not be a coincidence.

Something in the phone is sending out account information when you activate it.
