Yes. 30% faster top-end speed so your phone feels snappier and smoother. Pushing it to 1GHz really helps with both of those, though, if you're lucky enough to have a phone that can handle it. :)

So will not all phones handle overclocking? Is going to 800 or 1000mhz a big burden on the phone?

It can be. You'll be able to tell if your phone is stable at higher speeds pretty quickly though.

So will not all phones handle overclocking? Is going to 800 or 1000mhz a big burden on the phone?

No, not all droids can handle 1ghz. Mine could, but now I have a continuum. : P

Yeah, if your phone doesn't like 1ghz you will know it fast. It will shut down and restart on its own, force close everything and just plain not act right. I had my D1 running at 1.1ghz and it did ok. It would get hot quick if I put it under a load though like streaming a video from a website (not youtube).
