Just recently updated to 4.0.4 on my razr. Anyway to root?
Yes, download the RazrUtility 1.8 or 1.81 contained in a thread just below this one. Select option 2. After you have downloaded the utility, extract the .zip to its own folder on your c:\\, do not try to run the .bat from within the .zip...it usually won't work on a windows machine. Also, make sure you have the Moto drivers installed on your computer before running the utility. When you hook your phone up to your computer your computer should automatically download and install the drivers.
Thanx! Do you have the link for the Motorola drivers?
Version 1.8 has the latest drivers in the folder ... but it will automatically update you when you hook the phone to your PC
When you connect your phone to your computer (make sure you've selected debugging) and anything except mass storage under usb connections, your computer should automatically load and install the drives included in the utility. If it doesn't go here:https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/prod_detail/a_id/78662/p/30,6720,8417
There is a bug with 1.8...Please download matt's 1.81 utility, it's big I know but it has the latest drivers and everything in it.
Whats the bug? I used 1.8 and haven't noticed anything
Ya what bug?
I think the "bug" is a problem with the new Moto drivers. They work for some but don't work for others. 1.81 has a set of drivers included that seem to work for everyone.
Do u have the link for the 1.8.1 utility?
couldn't find the 1.81, but here's 1.8
worked great for me
edit: here's 1.81
you'll have to register for droidrzr.com though I think... don't worry.. 2 seconds and its a good site
Here is the link to 1.81: Droid Razr Utility 1.81 [Windows] For Verizon Droid Razr/maxx Only! - DroidRzr.com
