For curiosity, for all of you Droid razr owners, if you had a choice , what would you choice? The super slim and sexy Droid razr with a not good battery life or a fatter less appealing Droid razr maxx with 3000 battery?

Who said the razr didn't already have decent battery life? The bigger battery will help, but it will help a phone that already has good battery life.

I didn't mean that the Droid razr didn't have a bad battery life, just not good enough. I have to keep it on 3g to get good battery:(...

I think you will find that a lot of people are only turning on 4G when they have some serious surfing to do. Otherwise they leave the phone on 3G. In other words if you don't immediately need the extra speed don't pay the battery draining price for it. YMMV!!

    Good luck.

I use a lot of Smart Actions. since I'm at school during the day and there is wifi I have it set that 4g goes off. Ill turn it on if I need to. Same deal with when I'm at home. but im on it like all day. so i'd say fairly heavy use.

Buy the RAZR for $199.00. The extra $100.00 for the MAXX isn't worth it.

Now if the RAZR had horrendous battery life I'd say different but right now the RAZR is the easy choice. Same phone (but thinner) good battery life and $100.00 cheaper.

I wouldn't say that the razr maxx is super thin..it almost as width as the bionic or even more...it looks like the thunderbolt from the side..

When they put the razr and razr maxx together..the razr was 1/3 as thin..

I have 4G on all day plus GPS. In fact, I just put it on the charger after 13 hours and still have 50%. If I kept it off, I could easily get another 3-4 hours of medium to heavy constant use on wifi.

    My average day is about:

    (10) 10 min. phone calls
    (1) 30-40 min phone call
    10 texts
    1 1/2 - 2 hours browsing
Twitter and facebook updates all day
    60 emails
2 hours of games (right now, it's Monopoly)
From 5:00 pm on, it's on wifi with GPS and bluetooth off.

The key is understanding smart actions. Before I started using them, I was lucky to last to 20% in 8 hours. Taking 30 mins. to set them up according to my schedule nearly doubled my battery life. If it hadn't, I would have returned the phone and saved my upgrade.

If the Razr was flush from the camera hump, and went straight down, that's how thick the maxx is. It looks like any other phone w/an extended battery: a bloated form of itself.

The RAZR isn't 1/3 of the maxx either, more like 7/9.

Actually there is a slight hump but not significant like in the RAZR. The back slopes inward slightly just under the camera similar to the RAZR but goes flat almost immediately afterwards.

The hump is crucial for keeping the phone from lying flat on the table since the speaker port is on the back and if the phone did lay flat it would cover the speaker hole completely and dramatically reduce the speaker volume level. You can simulate how it would sound by placing the phone on a table and pressing down on the top where the Motorola badge on the front is while playing music or while in a call.

The Bionic is 11mm thick, while the Razr Maxx is only 8.9MM thick. So the Bionic is 2.1mm thicker than the Razr Maxx.

The Razr is 7.1mm thick, so 1.8mm thinner than the Razr Maxx.
