Current Phone Model
Droid Razr Maxx
Hi everyone, I'm pretty new to androids. I recently got rid of my iPhone and purchased a droid RAZR maxx secondhand. I had absolutely no problems at all, until one day I woke up and my phone was dead. I went to charge it and when I plugged it in, it shows this:

"The Device Error LOCKED. Status Code: 0 "
"Fastoboot AP mode (S) (Flash Failure)
QA.6C
To return to normal mode - first press power key to power down
Device to LOCKED. Status Code: 0

Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable "

like I said, I bought this second hand from someone and I never had a problem like this. I actually had it a few months when it started doing this. I researched and researched and I found nothing, other than how to boot it in safe mode. so that's what I've been doing. every day now. for months. I'm tired of having to go through the whole process and I cannot use 75% of my apps in safe mode.
I also cannot use the "volume down" button for some reason. also, never had a problem with it until this happened.

does anyone have an ideas on what to do? I haven't tried hard resetting it.

also, I'm a 21 year old, clueless female that doesn't understand a lot about android operating system. so I would really appreciate answers that are dumbed down enough for me to understand :)
