found this interesting, don't know if it means anything or not. maybe just a leftover from other systems.

while in an email, if you hold down shift and tap various parts of the message, you'll get a mouse/trackball cursor. you can't move it unless you tap somewhere else, but i did this enough times that it rebooted my phone. lol.

It's for copying text. Try holding down shift and swiping over a line of text. It will copy it to the clipboard.

shift + finger = copying text. i've never seen the mouse cursor used when performing a copy.

Ok, so if I'm doing "shift + finger," then what is your "shift + tap?"

shift+tap... as opposed to holding shift and sliding along the text.

the screen still says "text copied to clipboard" but instead of the normal selection cursor, I can sometimes get a mouse cursor.

I get a mouse cursor either way. I think it's still trying to copy some text, but since you're not swiping, there's no pink selection.

    mouse on droid

Idk if its been said yet or not as I haven't looked through this thread but if you slide your keyboard open on your Droid and you hold shift you can then use ur up down left and right keys to move the coursor that appears and use it just like a mouse... it moves in small incrimintes if you press the directional key but if you hold they keys down it moves faster... make sure your coursor isn't on anything when u try it or it won't work... you may need to tap an empty white spot on the page ur on for it to work too... if you guys have any problems let me know and I can laugh at you... oops I mean help you lol
