Droid Mini screen not working

Hey guys,
So a couple weeks ago I purchased a Droid Mini from Best buy and it has been performing flawlessly up until this morning. When I got up and pressed the button to turn the screen on nothing happened. It is like the button isn't working or something. The message notification light is blinking so I know the phone is on. You guys have any ideas?

I'd try a forced reboot first. Not sure what the procedure is for that phone though. Maybe power and volume down simultaneously.
