Can a Verizon droid phone send a wireless signal to a laptop and enable it to use the internet?

Yep. Which phone do you have? Most droid phones come with a 3g hotspot app. Unfortunally, it cost money to use it....unless you are open to hacking your phone and then it will be free :)

Thanks louy99. Don't have a phone yet. Just wondering if I should get one and have internet on the road.

Most android phones support wireless tether. The droid x has a stock 3g hotpot app.
