Droid Indicator Light Will not turn off

I have the 2.1 version on the Moto Droid and the Green Indicator light in the upper right corner will not go off. I have taken out the battery with no change. Replaced the battery with no change. Hard Reset the phone with no change.

I am stuck and at a loss as to what might be the issue. Before I assume a defective phone and try to work with Verizon, I figured I would check to see if anyone else has seen this issue.
