Hi

I'm living in Cuernavaca Mexico and brought my 3 or 4 year old Droid with me.
When I purchased it I was told it was "unlocked" but I thought the technoology made that statement silly.
Recently I went to a small shop where they guy replaced the sim in my cheap little LG flip phone work in Mexico but he told me
"Because of the serial number you can't use the Droid here". Is that true ? The MEID starts with A00000221...

Thanks

Its possible yes. If its a Droid (A855) that is a CDMA network capable device. If Mexico is GSM, then that phone will not work.
Unlocked in this case refers to the boot loader not the radio.

I think the guy is saying that the phone you are using is a CDMA phone
