    Hello everyone,

I'm new to the android game. I've rooted my phone and everything seems to check out alright. The problem that I'm running into is that every ROM that I've installed has caused the phone to slow to a crawl and become incredibly hot.

I've tried using Bugless Beast, Cyanogenmod, and Simply Stunning ROMs. All of them carry the same issue. I've even tried applying Chevy's 1.0Ghz LV kernel to the phone as well as Chevy's 0.8Ghz MV kernel. Neither of those did a thing to help.

Anyone have any suggestions? I've been using ROM Manager Premium to install the ROMs and wiping the data/cache each time I make a new attempt.

I'd greatly appreciate any advice anyone has to offer.
    Thanks!

How about the stock ROM? Did it make the phone slow(er) and make it become really hot?

edit: Welcome to the forums by the way! dancedroid

The stock ROM after rooting it works perfectly. Seems like it's only when I try to put a 2.2 ROM on it. I haven't tried putting a 2.1 of any of the ROMs I mentioned earlier

did you try different kernals? you gotta find the one that will work for your phone. not all droids are going to take well to overclocking and such. have you tried the stock speed on any of them?

It is very possibly, like someone stated above me, that it's just the kernels you're trying to use. Seems like your phone doesn't take a liking to it. Try and stick with a stock kernel, and see how that goes.

I was thinking the same thing. Try just installing the ROM, no kernels and see what happens.

Alright, thanks for the responses everyone. I will give this a try. I reflashed back to 100% stock using RSD Lite. So I'll give it a fresh go and see what happens.
