Don't know if this thread belongs here, so I appologize in advance. I have a Droid Eris that I've replaced with the Droid X, but have kept the old Eris. So I thought to myself "Self... I have a perfectly good piece of electronics that should be utilized. I wonder how I could do that?"

Basically, I'd like to turn my Eris into an "iPod" type of MP3 Player or whatever and was wondering if there is a way to format the Eris, load up another OS that would utilize the touch screen dynamics of the phone, and act not as a phone but as a multimedia device.

Probably a tall order as I'm not complete ignorant on programming and such, but I thought I'd shoot it out there and see if it could be done...

I have never heard of it being done but I'm sure it could be possible.

Sent from my Liberated Droid X!

Considering the current OS you have on there can support many different type of Music and Video players and files, i would say you are fine with it the way it is..
Plus with keeping the Android OS on it you will always have option to do more things with it.
