droid compatibility with mp3 & mp4 files

I want to buy a droid. I have 6000 mp3 & mp4 files in my computer. I did not buy these from apple I-tunes store but use I-tunes as my music player. Can I transfer these music files easily to the droid? How? Thanks

I have been able to drag drop mp3's and mp4's to my Droid easily and they play fine on my Droid. I even get the album covers on my mp4's.
