Droid Charging

Hi Folks,

Brand new Droid owner here. :icon_ banana:

Newbie question for you guys...when I plug my Driod into the wall charger, the phone always powers up. Is there a way to charge it, without turning on the phone?

You can, however, turn the screen off while its charging. Just push the top power button.

This is normal operation. The Droid only charges while it is on.

You might want to download "Power Manager" and turn off WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS when not in use. Made a huge difference in battery life for me.

Just go to your "Market" app and search for "Power". There are a number of them out there. Both fee and free. I prefer the "Beautiful Widgets" but there are many others that do the same thing and do it for free. Best of luck.

nah, you don't have to go to the market. Just hold down on your homscreen, select widgets, then power control
