Gingerbreak does not work with ed2. I've tried.

There are root, roms, kernels, and recovery(backup/restore is currently broken, but everything else works) in the Charge forum @XDA-developers. I hate to steer you somewhere else, I love this site, but no one is posting the development here, yet. I would do it, but don't have the time.
will rooting allow me to watch DRM content with the HDMI cable? I used the media hub coupon and bought two movies, but I cant "stream" them to my TV
I was wondering about the media hub certificates. Can we only watch the movies on the Charge through the samsung media app? I too wanted to d/l them and just watch them on my laptop or use the HDMI to watch them on my TV, but I wonder if rooting is striping out the DRM files Samsung has in their.
Google apparently did this with the XOOM, touting it as an open dev device you can unlock, but if you do the DRM files are deleted and you can't run any DRM'd content until you reflash the image.
as my phone is NOT rooted, I can only access the movies I purchased on the media hub...through the media hub.
i went to the vzw store in my town and tried rooting it using Gingerbreak and it went through but did not ROOT the charge. I did not try z4 root but I believe they will come out with an updated version very shorty due to all the new 4g phones being released.
But if you can root your droid Charge, please let me know
There is no one click root for the current software version. You have to flash a rooted kernel/rom.
i hope so...
do you guys think that the droid charge really won't have a good developer base because it's RAM capacity and because the S2 is being released sometime this year?!! I can't wait for a 1-click root!!!
There is some ok development going on over at XDA. They have three Roms an I think 3 kernels already. Low Ram is a bummer though.

i just bought the freezer/rooter on the market for .99 cents and it dosent even work lol.... if i just keep it will a future update allow for 1 click rooting?!
In the xda forum there is a thread for one click root for ed1 and an odin root method for ed2 I believe.
