Droid can't handle wav files?

    Since day one I have not been able to send a wav file as part of an MMS. Only options that come up when try to attach are mp3s sitting in the "ringtones" folder. Is there a way to look for sound attachment in different folder? Have also tried accessing wav file thru Astro & choosing "send" & MMS is not among the options, just email & bluetooth. Even trying to just open & play a wav file, I get a file type not compatible message, yet all Droid literature/specs says it plays wavs. Help?

    Have tried stock messaging, handcent & chompsms. Same problem all around.
