It will get better. I get about 20 hours on the standard battery and 32 on the extended battery. They have both been through SEVERAL full charge/discharge cycles. When I first got them, they were dismally bad. Now they're awesome.

I also keep 4G on all the time.

You will definitely be happy with the extended battery. The other day I didn't plug my phone in all the way to charge so when I woke it was at 50% (I had taken it off charge at 6am the previous day)...I made it through the next day to about 6pm (still with 25%!) which is when I put it on charge...so that's about 36 hours...I think that very good for a smartphone & all the use I give it.

This kind of resurfaces a question that I never seem to be able to reach a firm answer on round these parts...
I read online that is it NOT good for the battery to perform full discharges at all (man, that sounds porny), and then I will also read that it can be beneficial to do it many times (still sounds porny), and then I will ALSO read that it's ok to do it once or twice, but that's all (that sounds anti-porny).

Was there ever an end-all / be-all resolution to this question?

I use one, works great. Life will vary depending on how you are using the phone. Go through a few total discharge/recharge cycles, it will get better. Enjoy!

Also remember that the extended battery will take longer than the stock battery to recharge.

Detroit - in da burbs!
mine took about 3 full cycles (drain and fill) before it really started to impress me.
drains about 3% an hour when I'm in a solid 4g area. which is quite acceptable.

Yeah on 4G I get about 4% an hour. On 3g it is 1% or less. Not too bad.

That's what I wonder. I've many battery conditioning guides that say fully discharge, and then some users come up and say it's bad. I honestly don't know what to believe (since I'm not in the know how with batteries).

With old style nicad ,discharging was a good idea. It is not with modern batteries.

My numbers were with no use. Med use I use about 10% an hour.

Edit

The battery saver modes help a ton but I do not use them.

Can you please provide some sort of credible source for this? All I can speak from is personal experience of what I read was a good idea......new phones, battery was mediocre, I did a full discharge (or two or three), and there was an obvious improvement afterwards. Just what I've done and it seems to make some kind of difference...

My extended battery lasts about fifteen hours with very limited usage. I don't understand how some are getting above thirty hours.
