Droid BackUp

    im trying to back up my droid but everyrtime i shut it down and hold X & Power all it brings me to is the triangle screen. I tryed removing the root and stared from scratch but it goes right back to the triangle every time can somebody please help me thanks!!!!

    You need to install SPRecovery, it is a custom recovery screen instead of the screen with the triangle and the ! sign.

    This is what allows you to create nandroid backups same nandroid restores...you HAVE to have this to mess around with custom ROMs

    Run SM Updater. Its an app at the market that will do everything for you. If you are too strapped for cash to donate to the awesome sholes.info dev team you can download the updater free from their website (Sholes).

    Yes that app has also made it so much easier to tell people how to do this stuff!!

    Until people that have absolutely no business modding their phones because they can't type out commands in the TE and have no clue about the ramifications of all this...jack up their phone...

    Just my opinion though.

    Ok well I downloaded it but it says that it will void my warrenty??? Should I do it?

    I've not rooted my Droid so the suggestions above would not apply. I think, however, having a backup makes good sense. I use a Mac so I thought an easy way would be to mount and drag everything from my Droid to my Mac.

    Thoughts?

    Sm updater said that doing this will void my warrenty, so if do this can I remove it if something goes wrong???

    This is exactly what I am talking about with regards to SM Updater making it too easy for people to root their phones.

    @yankees - read up on it and educate yourself on EXACTLY what you're doing. Don't continue if you haven't the foggiest clue what to do...

    ok so i did the backup now when i try to install a custom rom when i get to the recovery screen and do all the steps it says nandroid exited with status 25 restoring. Any ideas of what i did wrong????

    i figured it out i never unzipped it! god damn, now just one more question how can i put free games on the droid?
