Droid alarm help?

Hi so i put an alarm so does my phone have to be on a certain volume? Can it be on silent and the alarm will still ring? Help this will be my first time using it =P

Others will correct me if I am wrong, but I am sure that if you are in the Alarm app whatever you set the volume to will be what it is for that app no matter what the volume is set to for anything else.

If that made any sense at all...
