Being a brand new Android user I'll probably give it a try, but I may wait a day or two. Hopefully some of the more experienced rooters will work out any issues. :)

Awesome, Fedex guy delivers my Droid2 and there on the welcome screen, Droid2 has been rooted!

I had to try a few times but I finally got it rooted. I installed wireless tether for obvious reasons, but what other "cool" apps are there for rooted phones?

boo yaa! had to use different steps. cp wouldnt work, had to adb push all the files where they needed to go, but no biggie.

I'm new what do we need to do...any programs we need apps? Is the process reversible? Does it void your insurance with verizon? Thanks for any info

i still dont understand what all the commotion is with this.

what are the benefits to this other than blocking adds, using phone as modem and removing factory apps?

theres gotta be something else that has made this a make or break deal

its the first step before custom recoveries then custom roms and with custom roms come gingerbread leaks dancedroid

Rooted!

I have achieved root. Excellent directions.

Now, why root: (my personal response)
Titanium Backup
drocap2
ad blocking
eventually themes
eventually scripts to make things easier

and last but not least -

JUST PLAIN FUN!
