Being a brand new Android user I'll probably give it a try, but I may wait a day or two. Hopefully some of the more experienced rooters will work out any issues. :)

I had to try a few times but I finally got it rooted. I installed wireless tether for obvious reasons, but what other "cool" apps are there for rooted phones?

i still dont understand what all the commotion is with this.

what are the benefits to this other than blocking adds, using phone as modem and removing factory apps?

theres gotta be something else that has made this a make or break deal

    Rooted!

I have achieved root. Excellent directions.

Now, why root: (my personal response)
    Titanium Backup
    drocap2
    ad blocking
    eventually themes
eventually scripts to make things easier

and last but not least -

    JUST PLAIN FUN!
