Another newb question from me. What does a bootstrapper do? I've seen a couple of people install one after they have rooted. I am all about customizing the heck out of my phone? What are the advantages of a bootstrapper?

Really what I want is a custom rom for this beast, but any incremental steps towards that are totally desired.

Bootstrap allows you to access custom recovery and help flash roms.

Ah, makes sense. Anyone been bold enough to try and flash a Droid 2 rom?

Well, so much for that route. I read that the pro and the 2 are very similar hardware-wise, guess that doesn't translate to the software.
