a few months back, my dad dropped a droid 1 in a mud pile. he didnt have time to try to fix it, he just put it in a bag of rice and dried it out. we know the phone is working because the phon is vibrating when i push the buttons on the bottom and can slide my finger across the screen and it will vibrate. on boot up, the screen lights up, but the screen is just black while making the droid sound. then when done on bootup, the screen just turns off but reacts to button. any way to fix it?

Sorry this reply is so late. But as you might have guessed the answer is no. Rice isn't always the cure all. You must immediately remove the battery and let the phone dry completely. However the fact that it was a mud pubble and not just water probably sealed its fate.
