Droid 1 battery life indicator

Anyone else notice that the stock battery life indicator is not linear? Its kind of like the car gas tank... It holds in an area for quite awhile then drops fast. Same with recharging. It takes longer to charge it up to 40% then it finishes the rest quicker. Not linear at all...

The stock battery/kernel is in increments of 10% 20% 40% 60% 80% 100% as are the corresponding battery_stats.png's...some custom kernels/ROM's come battery increments of 10% instead of the stock 20% which makes it a bit better

I noticed mine holds at 90% for a while then drops to 15% rather fat and then seems to last forever for only 15%. Annoying blinking red LED for a looooong time.
