Downloading ringtones with TextPlus

Can someone give me some advice on how to download a ringtone when I'm using TextPlus for texting? (At this time I don't have texting on my Verizon plan.) Here's the problem: TextPlus assigns a second phone number to your phone (I'd love to know how they do that!). So, when I go to a ringtone site, I have to do one of two things:

(1) Give the ringtone site my real phone number. Then it sends the PIN for downloading the ringtone to my actual phone number -- which doesn't have texting, so I can't get the PIN.

or

(2) Give the ringtone site my TextPlus phone number (it's real; you can use it for free calling). But the ringtone site says that number is not assigned to a mobile phone.

How do I get around this catch 22?
