In the system settings - developers options is a check box for don't keep activities.

I wonder how this will affect battery life?

Tried it just out of curiosity. Causes HTC Sense to reload every time I back out of an app. No good imo.

I use nova launcher.

When exiting an app, it takes under one second for the home screen to get redrawn.

I'm going to keep this activity option checked for a day or two and see what affects it has.

Normally, We run an app, then leave it, but it stays running - occupying memory and possibly even consuming cpu time. Worse is if the app we have stopped using is using the data/internet as the LTE radio uses alot of power. When the android system needs more memory, it is supposed to automatically kill the app. Anyway, I was just wondering about this.

Ya sense is no where near as fast at reloading. Does this have the same effect as say long pressing home button and swiping recent activities out of memory? I have a good habit of doing that.
