While I was connected to my home wireless network and it's cable internet connection the video news feed was stopping and not keeping up. Does the Droid X (Verizon) default to using a wireless connection when available? How do I know whether it's coming over G3 or my wireless connection?

I've had an iPhone and now a Droid. Both allow wifi. The default for both is 3G. However, once I turned on the wifi it took precedence. I imagine the same is true for the X.

If wifi is turned on and you connect it will negate 3G.

Seems if I was connected to my wifi, the video shouldn't have any problems. I get very good speeds with the cable modem and the wifi has a strong signal. Is there a way to determine which is being used?

Try this indirect method

Try downloading Data Counter Widget from the Market. It counts how much data is travelling across Wi-Fi, 3G and BT connections. Just do a before and after check of the number of bytes transferred and you will know which is being used.
