Hello everyone....1st post - just got my Droid X2 & it....is...Awesome!

My Blackberry had a "desktop manager" program that let me type phone contacts onto my computer & it transferred it to the phone. the program had the same fields & info on it that was on the phone.

Does Droid have anything like this? thanks

ps - the Vcast Media manager doesn't allow you to edit the contacts list.

Just add contacts to your gmail and all the information is synced to your phone. Or add contacts in your phone and it syncs to gmail. Is that what you're looking for?

Desktop Manager didn't handle contacts. It just synced between your desktop PIM app and your BB. AFAIK, there's no Android equivalent. Some more details on your setup would help. I'd suggest entering them into whatever account you use that syncs with your device. That way you effectively have a backup of your contacts.

Just add contacts to your gmail and all the information is synced to your phone. Or add contacts in your phone and it syncs to gmail.
Assuming the OP wants them in gmail. Not everyone does. I use Exchange, for example.
