Does the Rezound Have Carrier IQ Software?

Thankfully, the answer is a "rezounding" NO. I guess Verizon was true to their word when they said they didn't use this software.

I also downloaded Lookout's Carrier IQ detector app, and my Rezound was clean.

Verizon may not use Carrier IQ but they do track stuff. There is some stuff you can opt out of on their website though. Go to your account and pick privacy settings; there you can opt out of third party sharing and other info sharing stuff.

Even though they say it's anonymous these companies should give you the option to OPT IN, not out of, sharing personal information for those who want to participate anonymously.

Yeah, tracking websites is one thing. What's so nefarious about Carrier IQ is that it tracks KEY STROKES too. Which means you could never feel confident doing anything on your cell phone. Who wants a written log recorded of the full content of every text message, email and PASSWORDS? That's pretty scary, regardless of what they do with the info. They may say it's only for testing and maintenance, but how do you know a rough employee with malicious intent won't use that info for criminal purposes? You don't. They can never guarantee that won't happen.
