Does the Droid really NEED to be "rooted"?

    Yeah, but rooting mostly allows your phone to be customized to the way you like it. That's mainly the only reason why I rooted.

    I found no other use for rooting other than customization.

    Heh, yeah. It's sort of like the craze of jailbreaking on the iPhone's and iPod touch's.

    If you get caught doing this without paying and telling verizon you will pay for the amount of data you used while tethered. They can find out preety easily too. its 1.99 per mb thats a lot:icon_eek:
