I miss BB messenger and Viigo - other than that, don't miss it at all
I miss the keyboard. But that is about it.
We use a BES with Lotus Notes and my users are still on that. We are now testing with GMail Enterprise. A pretty good deal $50 per user per year with 25GB per user. I use Gmail Enterprise with my Droid and LOVE IT.
I just worry about the paradigm shift from Lotus Notes Client based e-mail to the Gmail model for my technology challenged users.
I can't miss my BB Storm... I still have it (Damn Electronic leash from work)...
My Droid is replacing the LG Chocolate 3 personal phone. The storm is company provided.
One thing I will say about BB OS 5, since I just put it on the Storm, it fixed one annoying thing that I found with Storm, the radio not turning on with the Auto On/Off feature enabled and it separated the Desktop (BES) email from the other E-mail, IE: Not use just Messages for Desktop E-mail now.
Nope not at all....f%&k the storm....biggest piece of s$%& ive ever owned
I miss the hourglass rotating and causing an ulcer/bile flare up...... NOT hahahaha
Well other than the hourglass rotating and the fun of pulling the battery and checking the app memory, I actually will miss BBmessenger and the email push while my local computer is open,
The DROID has more "promise" - but it still lacks a couple of things that the BB did (does?) well:
1. Sure Type <-- I really miss this! ... and have not found an equitable replacement for it yet.
2. E-mail handling was more configurable:
a) "delete all"
b) "selectable deletion"
c) "Long press on name or subject to search for all e-mails from that sender or subject.
d) Once e-mail was deleted - it stayed deleted (I still get deleted e-amils appearing - again - in my in-box!!)
3. Phone options - Configurable vibrate (short. medium. long. and # of each)
All of the above are minor nuisances - but still things that I was using daily - so not having them means that I *miss* having them. As new updates and more apps are released, I am hopeful that these (and more) issues will be addressed.
Would I go back? No.
lol no I do not!
Had a blackberry pearl which as you know you have to have a data plan... Surfing the web on that was like dial-up compared to a Droid.
Loving the switch so far.
All I miss on my storm is the engraving on the back cover a friend did for me and BB Messenger
NOPE!!!!! Hey whats blackberry? Oh is it one of the phones you need to wait 5-8 min to boot up to make a emergency call, or that wont work with 10percent battery saying radio too low for radio use. I had one but its now a paperweight and if needbe will be a wheel chock for my 80,000lb rig
I miss the blackberry email service and that is it.
I had the Storm for almost a year. I fought it night and day until their last software update. Once I had the update, way too late, I was over it. SLOW. Difficult pulling up names/numbers/dialing quickly. SLOW. Limited apps.
DROID - FAST, easy to pull up names/numbers and make phone calls. It was also tested and proven before released to market. FAST. Many apps, changes daily.
