Still on the fence with the droid. My tour was love at first trackball press though. Just curious if anyone else misses their blackberry yet? If I'm still undecided about the Droid before my 30 days are up, I was thinking about it exchanging it for the Storm2 :)

I miss what the BB was really all about - a portable Exchange device. Once the Droid gets updated with the various fixes, I think you will be happier with a smarter phone.

I came from an older but tough BlackBerry 8700. A bit bigger than the newer sleeker models..

As much as I'm excited about and love the Droid - I do miss a few things - first is the keyboard on the blackberry. That thing was simply designed for one handed use, and I could blast off a text or email without even looking at it. I always wondered what the big hub-bub was about the 'texting and driving' thing. everyone saying OMG its so dangerous!.. yea now I know why.

So I do miss that. Also, that blackberry got it's rear end kicked via dropping slamming into things, etc.. and never even shed a tear about it. I'm not so sure I can say that will be the same case with the droid.

But other than that.. Blackberry was great for an email and texting device... but man was it slow for trying to do much beyond that.. twitter. facebook etc all took soo long to load that I'd actually start it loading then put it back in my pocket.

BB was good for texting only. just open one excel, pdf, or word file with this droid and you will be reminded why you switched...

Coming from the perspective of a BB user who was on BIS, the BB SUCKED as a portable Exchange device. The Droid is much better, IMHO.

Yes, I miss my Storm 1...the daily battery pulls and random re-boots! Seriously, the Droid is by far the best phone I have ever had. Love the customization, the screen quality, and actually...the slide out keyboard.

I miss the keyboard. But that is about it.

We use a BES with Lotus Notes and my users are still on that. We are now testing with GMail Enterprise. A pretty good deal $50 per user per year with 25GB per user. I use Gmail Enterprise with my Droid and LOVE IT.

I just worry about the paradigm shift from Lotus Notes Client based e-mail to the Gmail model for my technology challenged users.

I can't miss my BB Storm... I still have it (Damn Electronic leash from work)...

My Droid is replacing the LG Chocolate 3 personal phone. The storm is company provided.

One thing I will say about BB OS 5, since I just put it on the Storm, it fixed one annoying thing that I found with Storm, the radio not turning on with the Auto On/Off feature enabled and it separated the Desktop (BES) email from the other E-mail, IE: Not use just Messages for Desktop E-mail now.

Well other than the hourglass rotating and the fun of pulling the battery and checking the app memory, I actually will miss BBmessenger and the email push while my local computer is open,

The DROID has more "promise" - but it still lacks a couple of things that the BB did (does?) well:
    1. Sure Type <-- I really miss this! ... and have not found an equitable replacement for it yet.
    2. E-mail handling was more configurable:
    a) "delete all"
    b) "selectable deletion"
    c) "Long press on name or subject to search for all e-mails from that sender or subject.
    d) Once e-mail was deleted - it stayed deleted (I still get deleted e-amils appearing - again - in my in-box!!)
    3. Phone options - Configurable vibrate (short. medium. long. and # of each)

All of the above are minor nuisances - but still things that I was using daily - so not having them means that I *miss* having them. As new updates and more apps are released, I am hopeful that these (and more) issues will be addressed.

    Would I go back? No.

    lol no I do not!

Had a blackberry pearl which as you know you have to have a data plan... Surfing the web on that was like dial-up compared to a Droid.

    Loving the switch so far.
