Finally happened. Leaned over, Bionic falls out of shirt pocket into puddle. Frantic pick up, shake out water. Phone seems to be still operating, but camera fuzzy. Searching all wet cell phone forums, used hair dryer for a few seconds, photos are now clear. Plug in wall charger, no charging, new panic. Plug into Bionic lapdock and begins to charge. Checked computer USB and finally started connecting after several attempts. Went back to wall charger and finally connected. Whew!!!!!! So far. Too bad the red dot shows inside the bionic. Might as well cancel the insurance since it doesn't cover water damage. Give me my icecream please.

We saved an iturd ( ipod that fell in toliet) using a bag of rice. Best thing for water damage is battery pull and to get it completely dry before powering back up. Good luck!!!!!

When your phone gets wet then step 1 is to remove the battery immediately.

It depends on the level of insurance you have. The most expensive one that Verizon offers will cover water damage. I know because I have used it. Though I know someone who ordered a new phone after water damaging his, they said any water would not be covered so he took the phone put it in the envelope when he got it and soaked the envelope, this way it looked like any damage might have been done in transport.

The post office is good for something I guess.

The coverage through Verizon most certainly covers water damage. The OP is mistaken unless he has a third party insurance coverage.

Insurance through Asurion covers water damage, unless it's been changed recently.

It sure as hell better for what I pay them every month. I'll poke VZW and see if they know.

>>>Just called them - water damage is covered. ANY physical damage as well as loss and theft.

Thanks for the insurance info. I will check now. I thought the basic insurance didn't cover water damage, but the full equipment lost or damage one did. I have the basic equipment warranty plan.

Put it in a bag of uncooked rice will draw moisture out of phone.

(Two customers enter the electronics department.)
Me: “Can I help you two with anything?”
Customer: “Yeah, I dropped my phone in the toilet.”
Customer’s Friend: “No, you dropped it in the sink.”
Me: “Well, did you try putting it in a bag of rice?”
Customer: “No, I put it in the microwave.”
Me: “Sir, you aren’t supposed to put electronic devices in the microwave.”
Customer: “I realize that now…it exploded after ten seconds in the thing!”
